Hosted in the Town of Shelburne on and around the Historic Waterfront.  Founders’ Day is a celebration of community and Shelburne’s History and Heritage.  Features live music, fun & games, demontrations, booths, food and so much more!

NOVA SCOTIA FESTIVAL OF WOMEN & SONG
July 26-28,  2013

SHAG HARBOUR UFO FESTIVAL
August 10-11, 2013 Shag Harbour, NS

A festival of events themed around the 1967 UFO crash in Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia.  This incident is the only UFO crash recorded and recognized by the Canadian Government.Come explore our museum, take a boat ride to the crash site, talk to locals who witnessed this event, take in a Lobster Dinner and  enjoy the variety show. LOCKEPORT SEA DERBY
August 9-11, 2013
Lockeport, NS

Join us at the 19th Annual Lockeport Sea Derby.  The longest running sea derby in Nova Scotia! Enjoy a weekend of fun filled events and watch in excitment as the “catch of the day” is brought in and weighed and measured. Prizes awarded for the biggest shark, groundfish and mackeral. Check us out here!

 

       

SHELBURNE KAYAK FESTIVAL

August 16 – 18, 2013 , Island Park, Shelburne

Fun for the whole family! Enjoy the weekend at Island’s Park, “test drive” a kayak or bring your own. Day trips, lessons, nature walks and much more!

 

  

PIRATE RENDEZVOUS

August 23-25, 2013 , Shelburne, NS

Avast all ye scurvy dogs… winsome wenches and riff-raff of all ages, come join Capt Pike and his jolly band of merciless cut throats for four full days of pure fun, pirate battles, music, mayhem, food, drink and merriment of every sort.

 

 

      

WHIRLIGIG & WEATHER VANE FESTIVAL
September 21-22, 2013
Shelburne, NS

The 14th Annual Whirligig Festival is held on Shelburne’s Historic Dock Street.  Explore and be amused by the vast array of whirligigs and weather vanes on display.  $1500 worth of prizes will be awarded in different catergories.  This festival was chosen as the BEST festival in Nova Scotia in 2007! Fun for young and old alike!

LIGHTS ALONG THE SHORE
September 20-22, 2013
Lighthouse Route, NS

This three day event celebrates the lights and lighthouses of the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

Includes a fisherman’s breakfast and lobster boil at the Sandy Point Lighthouse Community Centre, musical entertainment, moonlit tours, candlelight grave yard tours and much more.
